Can someone post the replacement guide TY-LA1000

Post by HunterZ » Fri Mar 20, 2009 1:23 am

Can someone put this online. It looks pretty complicated to change out the lamp myself. Lots of screws and I don't know if these are torx, hex, or regular Philips. On another forum I read you need to cut some wires or something to get the replacement lamp in? Isn't that dangerous?

YOU SHOULD NEVER CUT WIRES!

I don't think anyone here would recommend cutting wires for one of those lamps!

Here's our TY-LA1000 replacement guide: http://guides.fixyourdlp.com/panasonic/TY-LA1000.php

You'll need a long neck Phillips screwdriver and about 10 minutes. You can buy the lamp from Discount-Merchant.com http://www.discount-merchant.com/Panasonic-TY-LA1000-Lamp-DLP-TV-bare-lamp-p/panasonic-ty-la1000-lamp.htm&click=38489 for fairly cheap.. cheaper than buying the whole housing, that's for sure.

Remember, cutting wires can void your warranty. Only companies that want to sell you a crap lamp would want you to cut wires... Why would you do that? It's so janky!

HunterZ,

there is a good article on the FixYourDLP.com blog about the lamp only replacement for the TY-LA1000. You got to be careful cuz some sites sell the lamp only without the connector and that means you have to cut and jimmy rig the thing together...sounds like a fire and lawsuit waiting to happen if you ask me. Here's the full article:
