Hello again,
those are examples of optical blocks, since you cannot get the LCD chips separate, you would need to swap out the entire piece...
Do not worry it is a simple task and those already come calibrated just plug and play
1- I think it is a smart investment since all DLPs need a new ballast at least once during their lifetime (google it) ;) 2- No the Ballast runs the 15KV ignition and it is powered directly from the Power Supply only other 2 cables go to the motherboard and to the actual Lamp! 3- Yes!!! 1/3 o...
I would follow the new lamp by installing a new ballast, this solves the problem 90% of the time given your symptoms. (they usually run anywhere from 60 to 80$)
try http://www.discount-merchant.com/Search ... %20ballast
love your avatar BTW
I am 90% sure this is an issue with the ballast, but would recommend buying it online and swapping it out following the template guide on this home website, you can find the ballast by part number online for like 60-80$ and replace it yourself with just a bunch of screws and plugs, or pay around 400...
Hmmm could find one online but most large mitsubishis need to have the front speaker panel removed (where the buttons are) under the screen in front....
Hello, it all sounds normal, I think the problem lies in your ballast. as long as there is no discoloration or distortion then I would change the ballast first (it is relatively inexpensive, I purchased a Samsung at www.discount-merchant.com for like 60 bucks) and used this websites guides to change...
its an easy fix ;) , if you do not have room to remove the old bare colorwheel and replace it with the new one, you will need to remove the complete plastic light tunnel from the colorwheel base :( You are just a couple of screw away! be very careful when handling the bare colorwheel (kinda like you...
Hello, too bad you missed it going out to spot for any color distortion.... clicking or buzzing sounds are more commonly related to the ballast not powering up a new lamp. I think it might be weak,to try it out you can remove the lamp for some hours, reinstall it and give it a go, if it turns on the...
you might have to purchase an antenna that picks up digital signal i.e. a digitenna also remove any coaxial cable from anything that is not an antenna...
Well a lamp hour timer gives the Ballast (that which powers up the lamp) the suggested voltage for a new, used or spent lamp, which can in turn affect ignition.
hmmm Toshibas can be tricky cause they are virtually the only brand using DC instead of AC lamps... Are you getting any kind of sound like buzzing or clicking when ignition fails? Have you reset you lamp timer, if there is none you can do an improvised one by leaving the lamp outside of the TV over ...
noise*** sorry, I am pretty sure a DV board and colorwheel will fix this and keep your tv working like new for another couple yrs. I just fixed an RCA with the same problem I replaced both (because lets face it, I rather tackle most probable scenarios and I charge by the hour!) And it was like new.
This could be an issue with your DMD board, are you getting any other symptoms like remote commands not responding, or the picture freezing before it shuts down?
for a new lamp like the post above I would recommend changing the ballast first like BYO says, for an 8 month old lamp, depending on use and how well ventilated the TV set is, I would try a new lamp first, aftermarket lamps have about a one year lifespan is used everyday.
yes definitely, the bad news is that they regularly sell these assembled complete with the light engine / optical block which is pricey! (like 700$) but I've found them under 300$ at www.discount-merchant.com and there's nothing to cut or solder, just some screws and plugs it swaps in and out!
Im sorry I havent been able to find any lying around either, If someone out there could give us those dimensions I could look for an identical one, (i am sure infocus did not produce the internals for this TV, they use either samsung or philips, etc) there has to be tons of parts out there...
Hello,
I think you could have caused some damage to the ballast if it was weak enough but since you have never changed the lamp im leaning more toward you turning on the TV reset the lamp hour timer and regardless its about time you replace the lamp...
hello Gregutz, I received your message, if the colors are off after installing the colorwheel, I believe it might be a simple issue with the DMD which can be fixed if you remove a jumper it connects to, please see the example on the listing below... http://www.discount-merchant.com/product-p/samsung...
hhmmm i would still test the resistance and bring it down to 480... standard see if the flicker stops... anyways good luck with the cleaning and you are very welcome!
to be honest a little bit of both! one its cheap and two ive seen this before! one test i know we can do is lower the resolution on your screen i.e. from 1080 to 720. and see if it still flickers! let me know!
Also a good dusting fixes problems like almost 10% of the time go figure!!!
This cannot be a lamp problem, I would try the input board first.. if you take off the back shell there should be a part number on the board with all the inputs if you get me that number i can find the cheapest price online ;) .... if digital signal is causing the symptom then the DV board must be f...
well the bad news is the DMD (motherboard) is not normally sold separately from the entire light engine, I find the cheapest prices for this part at discount-merchant.com (in or around 200-300$) but at least the swap is easy, it is just a bunch of screws and plugs nothing to cut or solder. Pretty se...
Glad I could help, you also might want to check out the ballast replacement guide on this forums homepage. go to Guides> ballast ;) And to answer your question, No, the only function the ballast has is generating a 15kV ignition charge for the lamp and keep it on! if you notice the guide there only ...
