Re: 57HM167 Screen Dim

Hello, A dim screen usually is due to a lamp nearing the end of its life span. If the lamp is 2-3 years old chances are a new lamp will bring the screen back to its original brightness. A weak ballast usually is able to power an old lamp since most of the mercury gas has been consumed. If a new lamp...

Re: Samsung HLP 4663W Dim Screen

Hello,

I would definitely have the ballast looked at. I'm not sure how old the TV is but it's possible the ballast no longer puts out the voltage the lamp needs to work properly. That or the power supply might not be powering the ballast correctly.

Hello, Sorry for the delayed response. I wish I had better news but it sounds like your problem can be either the main board or even the dmd board. Main board would be the cheaper repair. Hi there,

If you heard a pop it's gonna be time to replace your bulb. You might find broken glass which is pretty normal. Make sure you replace with either Osram or Philips a sgenerics are not good bulbs at all.

Hello,

I am assuming your bulb is under warranty still. If that indeed is the case I would try an exchange. If you were to have the same situation then the ballast would be the part to replace.
