Re: clicking noise/ blinking red light
It can be a couple things, 1st check the lamp physically after you've determined that the lamp is burned out Or not. Either way the ballast is most likely to be responsible.

Re: Samsung HLP5063WX bulb
Also if te ballast isn't the problem you can reset the lamp timer to make sure. Also do a hard re-set. turn tv off, unplug it and hit the power button manually for about 10. secs. After that go ahead and turn it on.
Good luck.
Keep the ballast board in mind if after doing this lamp doesn't light up

Re: Samsung HLP5063WX bulb
The lamp seems to be fine honestly, Im thinking that the ballast is just not sending the proper voltage or perhaps not sending any voltage to the lamp at all. Ballast board is unfortunately a consumable part that does affect the lamp primarily.

Re: color is off
Unfortunately Mitsubushi doesn't really post these numbers, you'd have to either call them with the model and serial number and they'd be able to provide you with the right part #. Other option is to take out the part and get the part number from there.

Re: Will this light enging be compatible with my dlp??
I did some looking around and I was not able to produce a match with the part number you posted, but to be 100% sure.
The actual light engine in your tv has the original part # in it, I mean you have to pull it out anyway.
That's what most of us do.

Re: color wheel/ light bulb error replacement
The lamp message can be produced by the ballast, the lamp as you may know, doesn't have any sensors "ballast carries the sensor for the lamp but it also detects failure in itself.
Considering the symptoms. I'd say the ballast board is not working properly.

tell me is the ballast new or used? that has a lot to do with it because if you have a new lamp a used ballast or even refurbished may not be able to calibrate itself to supply power to a new lamp.

Wow, it seems that your tv is having multiple symptoms. 1st. Remember that the lamp's "only" job is to project white light. "nothing more" so... the lines you are seeing have nothing to do with the lamp but the DMD board is normally what causes those lines on your tv.

Re: Humming Noise on HLP6163WX - Dying Fan?
the best way to tell I think is thinking of the noise you hear and well, If it seems to be a mechanical noise like a CD spinning real fast high pitch noise and creetchy sound. I'd say is the color wheel.
But remember that your color is fine and the ballast usually goes out before the color wheel.
