Re: Hlp-4663w won't turn on, makes a high pitched wine
How long ago did you replace the lamp and ballast? Did you get those from parts store too? Did you purchase a Philips lamp?

Re: kds-r60xbr1 color seems off
This model is known for the light engine going bad, and from what you've posted that is most likely the problem. The lamp is only a light source so it's not going cause this.

Re: Identifying fake Philips lamps?
Prior to 2010 the wattage was printed under the Philips stamp. After 2010 Philips started to print the wattage, serial # and date code on a white sticker located one the opposite corner of where the Philips stamp is.

Re: KDF-E55A20 - Possible Bad Lamp?
If the lamp has 8000+ hours you should try that first. Worst case scenario you have a spare lamp.

Re: RIBBON CABLE MESS
You're going to have to replace the complete optical block. You should be able to find one reasonably priced at discount-merchant.com

Re: HL61A650 Problem after already trying bulb
Is the lamp still covered under warranty? Maybe they can check it for you. If it's not the lamp it might something serious like the DMD board.

Re: Saturated/blotchy picture quality on my HL-S5679W
If you are getting lines in the image it's most likely the DMD board. That is what I would suggest replacing first. The fact that the image is still distorted in the menu screens would eliminate the digital video board. I know discount-merchant has fair prices on complete light engines, but I am not...

Re: Black screen
It's probably the digital video board or the DMD board. Kinda of hard to troubleshoot through a forum if your not getting an image.

Re: Samsung hlp5085w thurn off and on
That is what I would try first since the lamp is almost 4 years old. Make sure your purchase the OEM Philips lamp. I purchase a lot of parts from discount-merchant and they have very competitive prices on OEM lamps. Let me know if you continue to have problems after replacing the lamp.

Re: Hlp-4663w won't turn on, makes a high pitched wine
Sounds like you have a defective color wheel. Make sure you are purchasing new parts from a reputable online company. You also want to make sure your are purchasing the newer air bearing color wheels. The older models had a regular bearing color wheel that caused a lot of problems so Samsung started...

Re: HLR5067WX/XAA wont power on
I would take the lamp out and visually inspect it to make sure it's not defective. You can't always tell whether or not a lamp is defective just by looking at it, but sometimes the burner will shatter or the wire coming from the burner will be frosted. If it is the lamp make sure your purchase the O...

Re: Samsung DLP parts?
These Samsung TVs can be frustrating. If you hear the whining sound it is most likely time to replace the color wheel. You should be able to find one online for under $100. I've gotten a lot of Samsung color wheels from discount merchant. Samsungparts is ok too, but they usually don't ship same day....

Re: Samsung hlp5085w thurn off and on
Do you get an image at any point? If there is no image and the TV is cycling on 3 times that usually indicates a bad color wheel. If you get an image and it is working intermittently then it is probably the lamp or ballast. I would take the lamp out and check the date code to see how old it is. If i...

Re: WD65734 with red Status Light
Have you ever replaced the lamp? If you have never replaced the lamp I would try that first. That is the easiest way to troubleshoot the TV, and worst case scenerio, you have a spare lamp if the new one doesn't fix the problem. Where did you learn about the error codes? Was it directly from the serv...

Re: WD-52631
Ekwork, Have you ever replaced the lamp. A defective lamp can cause a clicking or buzzing sound. If you haven't replaced the lamp you should try that first. If it's not the lamp you can keep the new one as a spare. The ballast is a really common problem with DLPs so you should be able to find it onl...

Re: TV has sound but no picture
It's really uncommon for these lamps to fail so soon, but not impossible. If the lamp is covered under a warranty I would send it back to Mitsubishi and get a new one. If the replacement still doesn't work then you would definitely know it's not a lamp problem. Do you hear any strange noises coming ...

Re: Resetting the Samsung DLP Lamp Counter/Hour Meter
lynnv268,
Does the TV cycle on three times before it shuts off? Do you hear a humming or whining noise. When the color wheel goes bad on Samsung TVs it's common for them cycle on three times before shutting off.

Re: Samsung 5067 getting weird
This could also be the DMD board. A really easy way to troubleshoot this is to go to a menu screen or PIP when the image is distorted. The menu screen and PIP image bypasses the digital video board. If the digital video is bad the PIP image will not be distorted. If that image is also distorted then...
