Re: HP XP7030 Color wheel

As far as I know, you can source the part from a manufacturer or parts distributor like parts store.

You can try buying a used HP XP7030 unit. That might even be cheaper than buying new color wheel!

Well, ballasts aren't that expensive in terms of DLP repair. You could always try to find parts online. Check DM first. If you're low on cash and don't want to invest just yet, keep reading forums on the web or here on our site. I'm almost certain it's the ballast, but I'm not there to check it out....

Re: Old and New bulbs dimmer.

Kent, the lamp has nothing to do with the coloration, only the intensity of the picture. A coloration problem may be something else all together. If you're saying it's dark AND blue, you might have a combination of problems. The firs thing to really check out is that ballast though. There are a numb...

Possibly a color wheel. Not sure though. Obviously you're a tech, so I suggest double checking that color wheel to see if it's the cause. Re: Magnavox 50ML6200D - Lamp and repair code question

Mike, the clear thing to remember about DLP lighting technology is that they are gas lamps. They aren't your typical house light bulbs (and even those are being phased out these days). Do you have any other pictures? I am not convinced it's your digital board or DMD board. It could just be the color wheel. What is the exact model for that color wheel part? Where did you buy it? Sometimes people sell a placement part instead of the OEM part. That has its failings too with compatibility. I generally steer people away from non-OEM, or no-name brand manufacturers. Got a picture of what your TV is doing?

Re: Old and New bulbs dimmer.

The ballast's main job is to supply enough power to the lamp for ignition and to keep the thing on. A weak ballast will often times not ignite the lamp at all, or simply not maintain enough wattage to the lamp causing it to appear dimmer than normal. The lamp, in turn, sucks up as much power as the ...

Wow, I'm not really sure, but it could possibly be a DMD board issue. This is definitely NOT a bulb issue. Re: Mitsubishi DLP WD-57733 57"

Just a tip:

The tech usually charges $50-100 to come out, but will put that money toward the repair (most techs do this). Just to be straight though, if the problem is going to cost more than $400 including parts/labor, be wary of the costs! They might try to squeeze you for more.

Re: please help with my samsung

I disagree.

The issue could possibly be a faulty sensor that's tell the TV it's over heating. Start by cleaning out the filters with compressed air and see if that helps a bit. If the lamp is coming on, it could be a number of things beside the DMD board.

There's no liquid in the TV, that's the problem. I'd start by checking the lamp like ovadoggvo says. That's a possibility too. Otherwise, I think it looks like it's seated wrong--but only a good repair tech will be able to tell you what's actually wrong with it!
