It may be the sensor causing this issue if it's broken it will say the door is not closed. Can you please post some pictures of your lamp enclosure and lamp door. Thanks.

It could be your component cables. A color wheel would not project a solid color because it is always spinning. So check your component cables and make sure they're plugged in all the way and that they are good cables.

I would definitely say it's your color wheel. It tends to make all of those noises when it breaks. If I were you I would contact Discount Merchant they are pretty knowledgeable about DLP TV's.

DrDragon, I would recommend you open the back of your TV set. You can pull the lamp out and most likely you will be able to tell if it's broken or not. All the sounds you were hearing is most definitely your color wheel so I would recommend replacing it. In your case I believe for you it's worth che...

Your dark picture may be caused by your ballast not working properly. Your ballast is what ignites your lamp and causes it to light up, so if your ballast is broken it will cause a dark picture.
