Hi, I am not sure if Samsung will repair it for free. But I am sure what the issue is..... On your post you mention that the lines have a mathematical arrangement, 8 dark lines and 1" of light. This is a issue with the DMD board (Digital Micro-mirror Device), this board contains the DLP chip. Please...

Re: samsung DLP SP50L7HX
Hi,
Clicking noise is definitely the ballast, if we already replace it and still doing it, check the voltage coming from power supply to ballast it should be 350V, power supply might be sending oscillating voltage and might be shutting down if it goes under 350V.

Re: HLN5065W ballast replaced - still no pic/sound
Hi,
I will definitely try the lamp first. This TV lamps do have a lifespan of about 6000-8000 hrs, and by 5 yrs is most likely that we already reach that limit.
Ballast also clicks when is not able to turn ON the lamp. 95% of the time replacing the lamp will make the trick!!

Troubleshooting online for a LCD TV's can be a little bit complicated, what is the name of the amber light?
How many blinks? How long does it take to blink again? Do you notice something before it broke? Can you turn TV ON but image doesnt show up?

I really doubt that temp sensor is the issue. Since the symptoms you have are very isolated from temp sensor. The ballast shouldn't be arching the way you are describing it.

It might be a bulb issue, or related with the DMD since this board creates the picture. The DMD has a matrix of mircroscopical mirrors that hinges to a ON and OFF position very rapidly in order to create and reflect a image to the screen. Some times this matrix of micromirrors (for each pixel on scr...
