replaced bulb now no picture

Post by cindyb62 » Tue Jul 07, 2009 12:11 am

I replaced the bulb in my samsung MLP5063WX/XAA - I did read about the cover being on before would work. I checked the switch and put the cover on. Now I get sound but no picture. If I use the remote, the timer light lights. What am I doing wrong?

Try resetting the lamp timer first: viewtopic.php?f=10&t=92. It seems like your lamp is not working, maybe is not seated properly or is defective.

When I try to reset the timer - I push mute - 1 - 8 - 2 - power. The tv turns on - lamp light flashes a couple times - can hear a click in the tv and then nothing but a dark screen. I unhooked everything from the tv - it is just plugged into the wall socket.

Does that mean the new lamp I bought is defective? What do I need to try next?

There's a possibility that you got a defective lamp, however before return anything I'd make sure the bulb is seated properly inside the enclosure and the enclosure is connected correctly to the ballast.

It could also be your ballast, actually if your lamp is a good brand and is new this is more probable.
