color wheel

Post by pmc7855 » Tue Jan 12, 2010 2:33 am

ok, seems that the color wheel must spin before the ballast lights the lamp. well i dont hear it spin and after a few tries i pulled the lamp and the wheel was still in the same position. now do i replace the color wheel or might what feeds power to the wheel be defective? once i hear the wheel spin everything works fine, but then the picture was showing like a negative after a few minutes.

color wheel is more likely to fail since it's a moving part.

I have the same problem (it seems to be very common if you read all of the posts). I replaced my color wheel - it was making a lot of noise - and the TV worked fine for 4-5 weeks. Now the lamp won't start. I am not suspecting the color wheel, since it is new. I have also replaced the ballast and lamp with no effect.
