I have a Samsung 54' DLP TV HL 5687 and I am now getting micro thin verticle white lines on my screen. there is a slight whining noise coming from the back of my set as well. Any assistance with this matter would be greatly appreciated.

I am guessing the color wheel is going bad. it will make the noise you are talking about. not sure if it would make the white lines but i guess it could. It may not be spinning at the right speed and maybe sending the wrong colors to the dmd chip and make things white.
