Howdy,
I have an HLR5067WAX/XAA
This has been a great TV for the past 6 or 7 years!
Anyhow,
Today my son calls me at work and says: "Dad, the TV is on fire !!"
I am told the picture went out, the area around the TV smelled hot and there was a loud bang, like a bulb exploding.
He said all 3 lights around the power button were flashing.
I told him to unplug it, and I will check it out tonight.
So,
I get home after work, plug it in, lamp light flashes when I turn it on, and there is a terrible loud buzzing noise that comes and
goes every few seconds.
I pulled the lamp module, the bulb is broken.
I don't mind buying a lamp, I just don't want to replace it to find out there are other problems.
Any help would be greatly appreciated,
Thanks,
John

Re: HLR5067WAX No Picture- LAMP lt flashing & noises!
Hello!
90% of the time this is a simple lamp problem, the lamp! And the buzzing sound can be your ballast trying to ignite a shattered lamp. *Do not keep trying to start it up!!!
In order to properly troubleshoot You need a working lamp other than that theres 2 consumable parts inside your tv that have lasted a while now, (these normally need replacement at least once during the TV lifespan) if you get screeching bearing like whirling sounds and/or color distortion it can be a colorwheel. An arching buzzing more electronic sound can be the ballast..
Hope this helps!
