HLN61W picture problems after color wheel

Post by Kreator75 » Wed Oct 27, 2010 2:43 am

I have had this TV for 6 years and just about consider myself a Pro having had to work on it MANY times. Only I am stuck. I have replaced the lamp 3 times, ballast, and color wheel. When I put the color wheel in, everything was ok until I notice this weird thing happening. It was what looked like blueish electrical distortions on the bodies of the people on the picture (faces in particular), or bright whites in the picture. I noticed the same thing also on certain bright reds. If i turn down the contrast almost all the way to where the picture is dull, it disappears. I have read on some threads about a jumper wire but I am not sure if my TV has this or where it might be. Any help would be appriciated. Thanks

if you just replaced the colorwheel for a new one you might have to remove the jumper piece as seen on the link below

The jumper thing is only if you replace it with a non OEM color wheel, not an OEM color wheel. I've replaced the color wheel on my HLN617 and never did anything to the jumper.
