Hello gchesnut.
I think I can help. Let me know if I got it right. You heard a loud pop, you lost all color but otherwise your tv is fine (turns on ok, tv menu is ok, etc.)

If that is the case then I suggest you inspect your color wheel physically, some times a piece of the wheel come off, if that’s the case then you might want to buy a new color wheel.
If you want to know on the parts and how it works here is one of my early posts.

good luck.

NightKid, appreciate your prompt response. Correct, loud bang, then screen went black & white. Set still working good today. No whirling noise or anything. Ordered new color wheel. Will update the post with the replacement results. Understand the HLR 5668WX is a "L6" chassis. Found L3 chassis color wheel replacement instructions. Are there any good detail instructions available for replacing the color wheel on a L6 chassis? Thanks for the help. Gary....

New color wheel was replaced successfully with no adjustments required. Old color wheel was totally shattered. Appreciate the help. Thanks, Gary....
