Hello every one, I’ve taken the time to create a post about light engines in general, there are many people who are frequently asking question about the components.
So here is a small reference guide for all DLP tvs, the light engine showed is from a Samsung TV.

The light engine is composed of 3 main components:
-Light tunnel.
-DMD board.
-Color wheel.

The light tunnel is located trough out the light engine, the lamp produces a white light, goes trough the color wheel, and goes out trough the light canons lens.

The DMD board is located on the bottom or side panel and controls the light engine. Its regularly encased in aluminum.

The color wheel is located in a “upside down” positions that is located at the front of the light tunnel.

When you go and buy a light engine, the color wheel and/or DMD is NOT always included.

You have to double check the description.
