Ok I have a Samsung HLP6163wx/xaa. About a week ago when you shut the tv off you would here a noise like a fan with something caught in it. It did it everytime you shut it off, everything else was fine, sound and picture. Then the other night when you turn it on it would make the sound of powering up, you can hear audio but you would get no picture, then after about 30 seconds, it would cycle off then the three lights would flash, Lamp, Heat and Standbye. I replaced the bulb about 6 months ago and had no problems until now.
After reading in the forum I'm not sure if this is a board issue or color wheel or just a fan....so any help would be greatly appreciated.

The problem you have seems to me to be the color wheel (80% sure).
There are only 3 moving parts inside your TV set that can make that noise.. Fan #1, Fan #2 (lamp cooling fan), and your Color wheel.
The chances of the Color Wheel failing is 5X more than any other moving part.
i would recommend a new color wheel...
