Samsung HL-R5668W, purchased 2/06, replaced lamp a couple of times, replaced color wheel on 4/09.

Satisfactory operation otherwise.

Right half of screen now occasionally goes black. If I turn it off and back on, the problem goes away until the next time.

Anyone else seen this problem? Any suggestions?

this is interesting, so when the right half of the screen goes dark, is the other half ok? crisp and clear image?? or does it pixel-ate or distort in any way?

When the right half of the screen goes completely black, the left side is perfectly normal, bright and crisp, color fine, but just half a picture. No pixelation or distortion. The problem is independent of video source. I have to turn the TV off long enough for the color wheel to completely spin down or the problem remains. If I leave it off for a couple of minutes and then turn it on, it works just fine until the next time which might be days away.

I have the same model, same symptoms, only with me its the left side that goes black.
Right half, picture is perfect, left side is black.

Any advice, insight and/or part # would be truly appreciated.

It seems like the DMD board or the light tunnel, which is the one that process the picture.

Just getting back to this after travel...

What is the DMD board? Where can I get a replacement?

Otherwise, I'm familiar with light tunnel problems, at least the ones where a shadow covers part of the screen. That doesn't go away when the power is cycled as this problem does. For this problem, half the screen is totally black and the other half is bright and crisp. If I power off long enough for the color wheel to spin down and then turn it back on it is fine.

The problem is getting more frequent, but doesn't seem to be a function of how long the TV is on. Failed three times in one day, then worked fine for several days.

Wife is starting to talk about a new TV, so any help is appreciated.

I am also having this half-screen image problem. I've read some of the posts, but haven't seen a clear answer to the problem? Any ideas? Thanks.
