Samsung 50" DLP picture freezes

I have a 50" Samsung DLP, purchased in 2006. The video periodically freezes for a few seconds; the audio continues; the screen turns black for a few seconds, then the video pops back in sync with the audio. This has been going on for a while. The freeze occurs whether watching dvds or cable tv. I'm ready to ditch the tv in favor of one that works but thought maybe someone on this forum might know how to fix it.

Hello,
Are DVD and Cable inputs both analog signals? (i.e. componenet, coaxial)
I think either way you might have a problem with you DMD board.
when it freezes does it not receive commands?

DVD is played through the BOse 321 system. Cable is coaxial. don't have a vcr hooked up to it.

what input from the bose system are you using to hook up the video?
~Good thing it still responds, it may not be the DMD..

I have a coaxial into a cable box and then to the Bose with an HDMI. I haven't mentioned this before but the component inputs on the tv do not work at all. I get a green screen when I try to see a component or plug in a game to its side. The hdmi input is the only one that seems to work at all.

this might just be the input board, do you know if it has a main and auxiliary, like inputs on the back and the on one far side? if so I would start by replacing those both, it is relatively inexpensive...
