So, my HLR4677w's picture started to get bad several days ago. The color would begin to look bad, then the picture would pixelate and go black. At this point, the remote control and buttons on the TV stop working. So, after unplugging for a period of time, the picture will look good for several minutes before the same thing happens again. There are no strange noises, so I am leaning towards ruling out replacing the color wheel.

I already replaced the lamp, and am wondering how much deeper ($?) I need to get on this TV before buying a new one makes sense.

My fear is one of the boards is shot, and I'm facing a steap repair bill.

Does anyone have any thoughts?

Ok, you can try this:

1 Try to pull up the menu, if your menu looks ok. Then the problem is with Digital Board.

2 If you pull up the menue and the menu is also pixelated then the problem is with the DMD board

I checked prices on Discount merchant and:

Digital boards for samsung they run from 24 to 69 dlls.
DMD boards they run like 179.99
