I believe my lamp went out on my 56″ JVC DLP model number HD-56G787. Do you have directions on how to replace it? I heard a pop, then crackle and now there is no picture. I never got a warning message…is that normal?
Thanks!
April

//Lamp may have shattered
Sometimes you won't get a warning sign because the lamp may have shattered (popped). The lamps have a lifespan that goes around an average of 6000 hours so when you're getting near that point or if you have already passed it, then the lamp will start to go bad.
//The symptoms of a defective lamp are:
There is audio with no picture
The picture starts getting darker
The TV turns of after a couple of minutes
