Hi, I'm a newbie here and am looking for some reliable info on my issue.
I have the Samsung HLR5067W and the picture went black and about 30 seconds later, the sound went.
Shortly thereafter, the three LED's on the "front button" started flashing.
I let it cool down thinking that due to the local weather (4 days of 90 plus) may have contributed to this.
Then tried to turn it back on, but nothing...the LED's keep flashing.
According to the manual, the light engine should be checked/replaced.
Is this the case?
PS...the TV is about 3 yrs old and I estimate about 9000 hrs.

Re: HLR5067W Front LED's flashing
Hi.
It's most probably just the lamp. Try replacing it.
Hope this helps.

Re: HLR5067W Front LED's flashing
I had the same issue. Started yesterday, and after approx. 12 hours of online research and trial and error, I finally fixed it with ZERO cost.
First of all, I knew my bulb wasn't out because it (the bulb) would come on, then the tv would shut down...then 3 lights of death.
I read a post somewhere that the little switch right by the panel that you take off to access the lamp sometimes goes out.
This switch is to prevent the tv from turning on when the panel is removed.
I unscrewed the one screw that connects this switch to the bottom of the tv set.
I unplugged the switch. The switch has two pins that connect to a wire with two "female" connectors.
I went to the garage and grabbed a 4" length of insulated wire.
Stripped the two ends, and stuck each end into the female connectors, thus bybassing the switch.
Voila! Not a single issue since!

Re: HLR5067W Front LED's flashing
I did replace the lamp and it worked great. I looked over the original and there were some dark marks around the bulb so I feel confident that it was just the bulb.
Thanks for the tip on the blue switch.
