I've got a VIZIO P50HDM and the tech says this board is the problem. He also says there is a 6 week lead time from the manufacture. Anyone know where I can get a replacement part? Can the part itself be repaired? Why the heck is it on backorder for so long?!?!?!

Parts are usually back ordered because after a production run of the OEM to put inside TVs, there are few spare parts lying around for replacements or repairs. Manufacturers end up sourcing the parts elsewhere, thus servicers have to wait eons for a new part to arrive.

The best thing to do is find a used, or refurbished board if you don't want to wait. You'll pay a lot less, and you won't have to wait a long time. Refurbished boards are restored to factory specifications, so it should be as good as the original, if not better.

OK, so your Y Sustain Board is bad...It's also known as the Y-SUS BOARD...depending on which version of the part you have.

I dunno if you already found this part but isn't it obvious...D-M.com has it in stock! Does you part look like this?

You'll pay a lot less, and you won't have to wait a long time. Refurbished boards are restored to factory specifications, so it should be as good as the original, if not better.

Is discount-merchant a trusted site to buy repair parts from? They have the part I need in stock a Hitachi UX21516 Lamp Replacement but I usually only buy stuff on amazon. Can I trust these guys?

Discount merchant is a trusted site. I actually recommend a lot of people to them since they seem to have a lot of hard to find parts. Always at a good price.
