about 2 months ago the tv started flashing a white flicker. i replaced the bulb and now it wont start right up as it used to. replaced the color wheel a few weeks ago but still no start.

sometimes the set will start up after 4-6 power cycles. sometime4s after reseating the bulb, it will fire but usually not the first time. whenever it does fire up, the remote is useless. have to unplug it to stop and restert.

any ideas?

i would also like to know the startup sequence if possible because the color wheel doesn't start up as it should but whenever it does, set comes right on. runs for a few minutes and then the lamp goes out and the remote is useless during the time the set is on.

update: tv just fired up after several power cycles. pic was great for a few mins, even on HD. switched back to reg channel and green color shadowing most of pic. no remote response as well. component1 in upper left corner and wont disappear. still on after 10 mins.

it could be many things. do you still have the old lamp? you may want to try that to see if it's the lamp. some lamps yo have to enter the service mode and change some settings. with tv turned off press on the remote mute 1 8 2 power. but you said the remote isn't working. check to make sure when you had it apart you didnt forget to plug any wires in. if that isn't the case and you cant change any settings it could be the digital board. also could be an issue in the power supply. I have 3 samsung dlp tv's the one had bad solder joints in the power supply after touching them all up tv works great. the other two needed new digital boards. then after I bought replacements I trouble shot the issue to a chip on the boards. they needed the solder reflowed. so another solder issue. I found a guy that does it but your issue isn't the same. It's hard to say what it is until a tech takes a look. another thing you could try is see if there is a high school tech school in your area. they dont charge any labor but you cant aways go by what they say. if they say it's not worth having fixed. I have heard them say that then i take a look and then have the set up and running for less then 50 dollars in no time at all.
