HLN-5065WX won't turn on new Lamp, wheel & Ballast
I'm so frustrated!!!!!
I have a Samsung HLN-5065WX 50" purchased 2004 $6500 Canadian dollars.
Started with loud noise, getting louder, with your help
replaced the color wheel, REALLY proud of myself, good for only 2 days
then the lamp went out, it's been 5 years, 10,000 hours ok replaced the lamp, even though it just went no fading of picture quality, good for the evening the next day nothing.
a little research tried the lamp-ballast
hey the tv works again, the next day oh it doesn't AGAIN.
when I power up there is no light in the back, all fans are working the lamp light and temp light flash, the TV revs up then down trying to turn on for about an minute, the only way to turn it off is to unplug it.
I've now spent $500 Canadian on parts, $60 on delivery charges and three weeks of my frustrated time working and waiting for parts to be delivered and I don't even know if any of these parts were bad
WHAT DO I DO NOW??????
I love the picture quality and it was a big investment I hate to give up, but I could almost buy a new LCD.
worst case scenario what do I do with these three new PARTS?

Re: HLN-5065WX won't turn on new Lamp, wheel & Ballast
I had already clean the tv pretty well when I first replaced the color wheel, but I did it again all fans are well vacuumed and I confirmed they are all working properly, any other suggestions?
Re: HLN-5065WX won't turn on new Lamp, wheel & Ballast
Is it possible that the ballast was defective and only worked for a short period??
I can hear the clicking and rev up and down of the efforts to start the lamp.

Ok, you said it was new, but it's possible, I think a power supply issue is also possible since the only way to turn the TV off is unplugging it. Check if the power supply is giving ~350-380V to the ballast.Marie wrote:Is it possible that the ballast was defective and only worked for a short period??

is there a site or visual demo where I can see how to check the power supply and/or ballast?
just don't want to damage the TV or parts

Hi,
I have the opposite issue, TV will not turn off. It will not respond to the side button nor the remote. I have to unplug it. I have already replaced the lamp, color wheel, and ballast. Worked fine for 2 weeks and then problem returned.
Thanks
