HLN5065W Problem after replacing wheel and bulb
Hi everyone, I received this TV from someone who attempted to fix it by replacing the wheel and bulb. Now when the TV is turned on it's showing no video. The menu system works perfectly so the wheel and bulb appear to be working correctly. However, when you switch to a channel with signal it plays audio for a second and then stops. I turned on the blue screen function and it starts out black and plays audio then goes to blue like the TV doesn't realize there's signal on that channel. I was trying to go into the service menu (Mute-1-8-2 Power) to test the dmd board but couldn't find the test pattern function in that menu like I'd seen it described. Is there a way to do this on this model? Thanks a lot for your help.

Hi cresus,
I don't think the problem is with your DMD board, in that case you wouldn't be able to see any menu. The problem seems to be in the analog or the digital board.
Could you try another input? try playing a DVD for example.
Get back to me when you do that...
HTH.

Re: HLN5065W Problem after replacing wheel and bul
I plugged the dvd player through component 2 and got mode unsupported. Then I did it in component 1 and it played fine (lots of flickering whites though so not sure if that was the compression in the dvd showing up a lot on the tv or something else, also picture was greenish). Thinking maybe 2 was setup for a higher res or something that the dvd player couldn't output. Not sure about that.
So it seems like something is up with the analog board. Since the tv worked fine before the wheel/bulb were replaced is it likely the board just has a connection that wasn't put back in fully or is it something more like the board failed due to it getting hit or static electricity, etc...?
Thanks a lot.
Edited because I realize now that component video is analog so not sure what is going on. When it wouldn't tune it was connected to coax inputs on both 1 and 2.

Plug the DVD again in component 1 and display the TV menu, check if the flickering whites are also over it. If so then it could also be your digital board.cresus wrote:I plugged the dvd player through component 2 and got mode unsupported.
