DLP TV picture problems

Post by ChubbsTech » Tue Mar 23, 2010 4:54 pm

This is a article I’ve come up with for the many users on this forum having some kind of picture problem where the DLP TV does turn on, so we can discard the power supply, the ballast & the lamp.

There are some tests you could do to narrow down the problem. First is bringing up the TV menu. If it’s displayed perfectly clear then we can discard the DMD board, if it’s a no show or if something is wrong with the menu then you might consider replacing it.
The next test is hook up an external device to the analog side of the TV (such as a component cable, s-video, etc). If the imperfections are visible then there might be something wrong with the analog board, so you’ll probably have to replace it. Now try the same on the digital side (hook up a computer that uses a VGA cable or a device using HDMI). Again if the picture is affected in any way then there is some thing wrong and need repair or replacement.
This is the back of a Samsung TV (the HLS5687W).

Good luck every one.
