Have a HLR5067W DLP...approx. 3 yrs old.
TV makes a loud whirring sound at start-up, and during viewing. I'm not experiencing any picture issues, nor am I receiving any messages on the TV. No buttons are illuminated on the silver power button, which as per the manual would indicate a color wheel problem.
Nothing I've read indicates a color wheel issue, so I'm reluctant to go down that route. I'm thinking that a little WD-40 on the fan might solve the problem, but would appreciate any insight...

I think you should clean your fans and air vents frist, maybe is just the fan. If it doesn't work let us know.
