Samsung HL-S5687W shuts off 3 lights blinking

Post by born2fish » Wed Jun 02, 2010 8:31 pm

Hi I have a Samsung Hl-S5687W which shuts off after turning on for less than a minute. Standby, Timer, and Lamp lights blinking. There are no humming, clicking, or any other noises coming from the TV. The lamp is 2 and a half years old and has never been replaced. Could the lamp be the only problem considering there are 3 lights blinking?

yes after 2 and a half years im pretty sure that you need to replace the lamp the phillips lamps last from 6000-8000 hours it depends on how you use your tv, also you dont have any other symptom but for sure after 2 1/2 years you need to replace the lamp make sure you purchase the OEM phillips lamp, hope this info. can help you :ugeek:

Johnrot: Thank you very much. After checking the date in which I purchased the TV, I have found out that the lamp is 3 and a half years old. Definitely time for a new one. Thanks again
