I have have HLN617WX\XAA and last year changed the bulb no problem. Changed the colour wheel 6 months ago.
About 3 weeks ago black lines appeared vertical on the screen still watchable just anoying.
2 days ago the Screen when blank.
Checked the lamp and the colour wheel all start up and lamp light on the stops flashing as normal but no picture. When it first starts up there a slight flash as normal but then nothing. Tried the mute + 1 + 8 + 2 power but i can't see anything
any ideas?

If you're picture looked like this:
Then the problem is the light tunnel. A collapsed light tunnel causes this darker image in a portion of the screen, basically the light passes through a series of optical filters guiding the light all the way into the screen. So it's most likely that one of the lenses has collapsed and a portion of the light isn’t reaching the screen causing this darker image.
If not, then did your picture looked like this:
Then this might be the DMD board, this board is the one in charge of sending the image into the screen, it has a DLP chip that controls about 2 million pixels (mirrors) and each one reflect the light so the board itself may be malfunctioning causing this black and white stripes in the screen

Thanks for the information, I am gonna replace the DMD board. River, it was the latter pic with the vertical lines but not as pronouced.
